World Cities Day is an internationally recognized day initiated by the Chinese government, widely supported and participated in by the United Nations and the international community, aiming to promote the idea of "cities for a better life."

On the afternoon of October 30th, the 2023 World Cities Day, the main event in China and the Third Global Conference on Urban Sustainable Development, was grandly held in Shanghai. The theme of this conference was "Pooling Resources, Building a Sustainable Urban Future." Representatives from local governments, social organizations, businesses, UN-related agencies, and various sectors gathered to collectively explore pathways and strategies for urban sustainable development, showcasing valuable experiences of local governments and communities in pursuing sustainable development to the world.

The conference's main highlights included passionate speeches by leaders such as Riccardo Maroso, the head of the United Nations Habitat flagship project in the Asia-Pacific region, and Chen Haiyun, Vice President of the Shanghai Sustainable Development Research Association. Experts, scholars, government officials from international organizations like UN-Habitat, World Bank, International Association of City Leaders, and Global Urban Research Network shared outstanding cases of sustainable development in economic, social, and environmental aspects. The event also unveiled the winners of the First Global Sustainable Development City Award (Shanghai Award) and outstanding achievements like the "Shanghai Manual." Furthermore, a roundtable discussion on innovation and collaboration was organized, featuring renowned entrepreneurs from various industries and fields.

As a representative of entrepreneurs, Gao Xue, Vice President of Development Committee of TDG Holdings Limited and Chairman of TDG YUNET Technology Co., Ltd., participated in the Entrepreneur Roundtable Forum. He emphasized the complementary relationship between corporate development and urban sustainable development, stating that the latter relies on the former.
